After weeks of nonstop travel, Chamonix gave us a chance to pause, breathe, and lift our spirits, quite literally.
Together we ascended Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the French and Italian Alps, rising to 4,805 meters (15,766 feet), to celebrate every victory that brought us here: completing our long Arete journey of rigorous virtual courses, earning visas, overcoming fears, and, for some of our scholars, taking their very first international trip, or even their very first flight.
But the greatest gift wasn’t the summit. It was the time we spent together—sharing meals we cooked ourselves, engaging in meaningful dialogue, and getting to know one another more deeply in the quiet beauty of this mountain retreat.
From the heights of Chamonix, we paused to appreciate how far we’ve come, the character we’ve built, and the friendships that will continue long after this journey ends.
