We sat in Prof. Joshua Hayden’s Leadership course at Anglo-American University with some of its students, watched The Power of the Powerless, and then someone asked the question that changed the room:
“Who are the greengrocer’s today?”
Turns out, it might be us. And that’s exactly the point.
Monika Pajerová, who stood in these streets during the Velvet Revolution, and Darin Nellis, the film’s producer, were in that room with us. And what became clear is that the power Havel wrote about, the quiet, stubborn power of people who refuse to live within a lie, it doesn’t belong to any one generation.
